Why
Freestanding self-service bag drop
A user-friendly, functional, and aesthetically designed check-in and baggage drop product. Integrated seamlessly into the 50-year-old architecture, at Fraport Airport’s Terminal 1. This new self-service bag drop kiosks enhance the passenger experience while boosting check-in capacity.
This solution includes options for manned counters, storage cabinets, and service desks, all designed with a strong focus on usability, modularity, and aesthetics. The baggage drop units, designed as stand-alone elements, free up valuable terminal space by pushing the front of the check-in row back by 3 meters, improving flow and accommodating future passenger growth.
With the ability to handle five pieces of luggage per minute, these machines double baggage drop capacity, optimizing efficiency. The design features elegant, clean lines with softly curved surfaces, creating an intuitive, ergonomic, and welcoming atmosphere. Consistent use of robust materials like stainless steel and powder-coated steel ensures durability while complementing the surrounding architecture.
Ergonomics & Usability
Passengers and staff meet a welcoming product series with large, clean surfaces and no distracting details to ensure intuitive interaction.
The design of the entire product family ensures accessibility and ergonomics for people of all heights, including wheelchair users.
The touch screens and user interaction points are placed on triangular kiosks, creating a semi-private space for the passenger when dropping off his/her bag.
Ceiling light creates a calm atmosphere, while signal light supports the user in the process.
A Product Family
The series consists of a range of different products with the overall aim to create a seamless and hassle-free passenger journey in Frankfurt Airport’s Terminal 1.
The core element of the product family is the self-service baggage drop-off machine. This can be supplemented with the following modules
- Self-service baggage drop automats for bulky baggage
- Built-in manned counters between self-service bag drop kiosks
- Fully mobile counters
- Storage cabinets for mobile counters when not in use
- Storage cabinets for material
For special service areas, the counters can also be lined up without baggage drop-off machines.
